It's that time of year again when club soccer tryouts are approaching. If you have a high school aged girl (or 8th grader who will be a freshman in fall of 2015) come to our Hawthorn Woods Elite Soccer Club tryouts starting on May 2nd, 2015 at Community Park at Old McHenry and Quentin Roads. It's a great opportunity for your daughter to grow her skills both on and off the field. The club is unique in many social aspects and also gives the girls many athletic opportunities through regular season games, college tournaments and friendly scrimmage games that our coach, Tom Chmela, sets up with the many contacts he has. All this exposure helps the girls grow their sport to their fullest capability. Come to the tryouts to experience the difference and see what the club is all about. I must admit, we spend as much time as we can outside. And with the new doggie addition to our home last spring, our dog Bella keeps up that promise of getting us the fresh air we need. Bella and I love to go to the Lake County dog park here in Wauconda. It's a great place for a dog to run, play and socialize with others. Plus, it's great exercise for me, too. I issued a birthday gift certificate recently for a mini session at the dog park. So, off to the dog park with my sports action lens in tow. I really enjoy a moving target! Gracie was a perfect subject and let me capture this image of her for her owner, Holly. Happy Birthday, Holly! Hope this is the icing on the cake!

Looks like we are having another mild winter here in the Midwest. We took advantage of one of the "warmer" days to do a quick session outside. Paige is home from college and we snuck in a few shots of her before going back. Her sister joined in, too. Now their mom can update the photos around the house and at the office. Thanks much, Stacey....and if anyone needs a great financial advisor, she can be found at Edward Jones in Wauconda, IL!

Even though the leaves have fallen, it's still a nice time of year to walk on the trail in the woods. We took advantage of one of the last mild days of this season to capture this wonderful family. Now dad can be in the photos with his family. Being the family photographer has it's drawbacks; never being in any of the photos! Today, he was able to enjoy his time on the other end of the camera with his lovely family.

I really love taking pictures. Molly made my job really easy this day because she is so comfortable in front of the camera. You can see her confidence and poise come through strong. It was a tough edit, though, because there were so many great shots!

Kinda sounds like a TV show. We had a really nice walk in the woods on a warm fall day. The trail was busy with people enjoying the weather. But we had the most fun taking photos! A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

If anyone know my family, we love soccer. I had the opportunity to take team photos for the Hawthorn Woods Elite Soccer Club. Many of the girls are friends and there are siblings that play for the club, too. I offered anyone who wanted a chance for individual, friend or sibling photos. I set it up as a digital download on my website for those interested. I also have an order form (very affordable prices) to offer if you have a sport club that would be interested in portraits. We did the shoot between practices, so it was hustle, hustle the whole time. But, we did it! I wonder if there is a team for speed photography?

We had so much fun this day at Independence Grove in Libertyville! It's such a beautiful park and this time of year is great for family photos. As soon as we got there, Quinn caught a fish with his bear hands! I knew we were going to have fun. He even asked me why I didn't bring a fishing pole. I'll have to add that to my list for next time. I love when photos shoots feel like a walk in the park with friends...I could have walked for another hour with these wonderful people. We just walked and took pictures and walked a little more. The scenery was so colorful with the fall leaves in high color. These are some of my favorites from this shoot.

I've had the privilege to photograph Ava since she was born. She is an adorable little girl and, I must say, this was my favorite shoot thus far with her. Something about this age is just priceless. She was really working the camera today and I think she may have a future at being the cutest kid ever!

This annual event is hosted by the Village of Wauconda. This wonderful holiday celebration takes place the first Saturday of December and features such activities as: horse drawn sleigh rides, Santa and Mrs. Claus, gingerbread decorating contest, children's crafts and book readings, letters to Santa, face painting, free give-aways, tree decorating contest, street lighting ceremony, warming stations, caroling, food and craft vendors and in years past, an appearance from the Wiener Mobile.

Recently, I had the opportunity to spend time with Melissa and her family. Melissa flew in from New York to be with her family and they took this opportunity to gather together and create some memories with pictures. We spent the late morning in historic Long Grove and took photos of the three generations in her family. A wonderful day with wonderful people!
